B.I.T.E. The Body Image Transformation Experience®

Dates

WORKSHOP I: OWNING MY BODY MY SELF
February 5-April 15, 2008
WORKSHOP II: TRANSFORMING MY BODY MY SELF
April 22 - June 24, 2008

Despite popular notions of diets and food plans, weight loss and regulation is a very complicated process, physically and emotionally. The challenge can be daunting, constant, and to top it off, may not go away even if you "succeed".

Whether you struggle with 20 or 50 extra pounds, similar dynamics are at work. Through exploration and action, B.I.T.E.® works to effect inside and outside change.

Sometimes people's internal world, constructed from a legacy of experiences from long ago, keeps them trapped in the past and unable to move forward to get what they say they want.

B.I.T.E.® works well as a complement to ongoing individual psychotherapy, nutrition counseling and exercise programs.

WHO IS B.I.T.E.® FOR?

  • For those who struggle with weight regulation, weight loss, size, perception of self and body image.
  • For those who appreciate that one's psychological/emotional life can get in the way of maintaining a food plan.
  • For those who have lost weight, yet whose self-perception is not changing.
  • For those who are having trouble coming to terms with the new, evolving "you".
  • For those who need help to find the courage necessary to move away from the familiar and onto unfamiliar ground.
  • For those who need to develop specific strategies for integrating intellectual and emotional understanding with weight loss and body image transformation for successful long term outcomes.
